TAYLOR CUE COMPANY
Maker of pool cues from 1985 to present, currently in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Kent Taylor bought his first lathe at the age of 14 and began refinishing bowling pins for a local bowling alley in Southeastern Kansas. Kent´s step-father was a tool and die maker with whom Kent worked part time during his school years, learning to run various types of machine tools and at the same time developing an interest in woodworking and cabinet making. In the mid-1980s, Kent started a cue repair business in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and began making custom cues. Moving to Colorado in 1990, he later resurrected his cue business in 1998. The early cues are not marked and are difficult to identify. All cues completed after July 1998 are signed and dated.
Kent moved his cue shop to Edmond, OK, in October 2000. He needed to get away from the thin air in Colorado that was aggravating his emphysema, and he wanted to move closer to his mother. He built a new climate-controlled and humidity-controlled shop that included five lathes, two pantographs, and a full spectrum of woodworking equipment. Kent Taylor creates one-of-a-kind cues with the help of his sons Joey and Zach. All Taylor Cues are hand-fabricated without the aid of CNC, and no plastics are used. Taylor Cues are players´ cues based on Kent´s 40+ years of professional playing experience.
Taylor Cues are guaranteed against manufacturing defects that are not the result of warpage or abuse. If you have a Taylor Cue that needs further identification or repair, or would like to order a new Taylor Cue, contact Taylor Cue Company, listed in the Trademark Index.
