SCOT SHERBINE CUSTOM CUES
Maker of pool cues from 2002 to present in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
After graduation from high school, Scot Sherbine went to work for his father in construction for about 10 years before working on cues. Scot´s full-time job is cue repair and refinishing. Scot got into cue repairs in 1998 when he found himself tired of construction work on the road. Cue restoration began for Scot with an old Meucci Gambler cue that had its share of war wounds. He decided to try to fix the cue. With his background in woodworking, and hobby in painting cars, he was able to restore the old cue. After showing it to a local cue collector, there was plenty of cue work for Scot to start with. Scot immediately bought his first lathe.
In 2001 Scot started making Sneaky Petes when time allowed, and players who bought them liked the way they hit. Scot´s business, Proficient Billiards, began taking off in 2002. It meant less time for cuemaking until friend and co-creator of Proficient, Matt Haines, joined the business full time. In 2003, Proficient launched an all-billiard-related auction site specifically designed for cues. While the office is very high tech, the shop is very low tech, with no computerized equipment. Matt has become an essential part of every aspect of Proficient, and as a result, Scot has more time to devote to cuemaking. Scot specializes in turning full-spliced bar cue blanks and Brunswick Titlist blanks into custom two-piece cues. Sherbine cues are easily identifiable by the Scot Sherbine signature and date on the cues.
If you are interested in talking to Scot Sherbine about a new cue or cue that needs to be repaired, you can contact him at Scot Sherbine Custom Cues, listed in the Trademark Index.
