Maker of pool cues from 1992 to present in Danbury, Texas.
Charlie Wilhite began building Rhino cues in 1992. His wife, Debbie, helped him come up with the cue name. They were looking for a name that exuded toughness. "Rhino" seemed perfect. Charlie credits Kim Van Zandt with his development as a cuemaker. Dennis Dieckman, Gary Medlin, Jim and George Buss and Richard Black also offered encouragement and advice along the way. Rhino cues have been featured several times in the American Cueist, including once on its cover.
Most Rhino cues are built with a wood-to-wood flat-face joint and a 3/8-10 stainless pin. Charlie builds other types of joints (customer´s preference) but believes that Harvey Martin´s joint style is hard to beat! Having built many pieces of custom jewelry, Charlie can work with precious metals, scrimshaw and gems to create an elaborate or unusual cue. However, his primary concern has always been to build well-balanced cues that hit solidly and feel "just right" in the player´s hands. Don´t look for CNC equipment in Charlie´s shop. "I have no quarrel with the guys who utilize computers. I just truly enjoy building cues in the time-honored fashion of cuemakers of yesteryear." He wants to build cues of your design or his design. Cue inlays range from simple diamonds to other geometric designs, animals, and even angels.
Rhino cues are guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects that are not the result of warpage or abuse. If you have a Rhino cue that needs further identification or repair, or would like to order a new Rhino cue, contact Rhino Cues, listed in the Trademark Index.
