Distributor of pool cues from 1995 to present in Meridianville, Alabama.
Glen Sadler has been playing pool since he was a kid. While working as a plumbing contractor in the home and commercial construction business, Glen became intrigued with a tip tapper that a friend invented. Glen thought it was a great product, but the inventor never seemed to have enough to sell, and Glen thought it could be marketed better.
So, in 1988, Glen bought the patent rights, and started Porcupine, Inc. Glen´s goal with Porcupine, Inc. has been to introduce a new billiard product every year. Although some products have been successful and some have not, every year there has been a new Porcupine product. In 1995, the new product was a line of cues. Glen teamed up with Ken Lane, a cuemaker in Canada, to create a line of Porcupine cues. Ken assembled the cues in Canada, and Glen distributes the cues in the United States. Although production ended in 1997, Glen still has every model in stock.
Porcupine cues are easily identifiable by the Porcupine logo on the butt caps. They feature a stainless steel joint that is thicker than most joints, for a stiffer hit. In 1996, the 5/16-18 flat faced joint was changed to a 5/16-14 piloted joint. Porcupine still offers the Ken Lane series, which were assembled in Canada. The Redstone series, which was assembled in the United States is no longer available.
Porcupine cues are guaranteed for one year against construction defects that are not the result of warpage or abuse. If you have a Porcupine cue that needs further identification or warranty repair, or would like to talk to Glen about ordering a new Porcupine cue, contact Porcupine, Inc., listed in the Trademark Index.
