HUNTER CLASSICS CUSTOM CUES
Maker of pool cues from 1989 to present in Alamagordo, New Mexico.
Wes Hunter has been playing pool since he was a kid. He has been in the construction business for years, specializing in custom wood and trim work. One day, he decided to open up a pool room on the side. After studying the new cues he was selling in his room, Wes decided that he could make cues as good or better than what he was selling. He soon started Hunter Classics Custom Cues, where he makes Hunter cues in his one-man shop to this day.
Hunter cues are easily identifiable by the "HC" logo on the butt sleeves. All cues, except for the hustler cues Wes makes, also have a serial number next to the logo. Wes likes his cues to have a different look, so he likes to make three-, five-, and six-point cues, with five points being the most popular. Although Wes does CNC inlay work, he prefers the sharpness and construction of spliced points. He stresses playability over cosmetics when crafting his cues. In 1996, Wes switched from a 3/8-10 joint screw to a 3/8-8 screw which he has custom made for him. A piloted stainless steel 5/16-14 joint is also available. Wes uses a Uni-Loc joint above the wrap on his jump break cues and will use the Uni-Loc on the joint if the customer prefers.
Hunter cues are guaranteed indefinitely against construction defects that are not the result of warpage or abuse. If you have a Hunter cue that needs further identification or repair, or would like to talk to Wes about ordering a new Hunter cue, contact Hunter Classics Custom Cues, listed in the Trademark Index.
