Maker of pool cues from 1970 to the 1990s in Chicago, Illinois and from 1997 to present in Crystal River, Florida.
Al Hamilton began woodworking at age 17. In 1958 he began trap shooting, and made gun stocks with Russell Anton for eight years. He owned his own machine shop for 40 years, first in Chicago, then in Largo, Florida. He began to collect cues in the late 1960s. He has cues by Brunswick, Balabushka, Schon, and Kersenbrock, whom he particularly admires. Al made his own cues for fun, for himself and his friends and family in the 1970s, making a half dozen or so a year.
Al Hamilton is a pool player who has experience in doing cue repairs. He moved to Florida in the mid-1990s and began building cues once again in 1997. All Hamilton Cues are one-of-a-kind or limited editions.
If you are interested in talking to Al Hamilton about a new cue or cue that needs to be repaired, you can contact him at Hamilton Cue, listed in the Trademark Index.
