Maker of pool cues from 1993 to 2003 in Augusta, Maine.
Don Doyon started playing pool at an early age and became serious about playing in the late eighties. A master cabinetmaker for over 20 years, Don decided to make himself a pool table in 1989. After some of the players in his local area saw the table, people started placing orders for their own Don Doyon custom table. After realizing that he could combine his work and his hobby, and find a receptive market, Don decided to start making cues in 1993. He stopped making cues in 2003 after rupturing two discs. Don still has all of his equipment and materials, and he may start making cues again if his health improves.
Don Doyon cues are easily identifiable by the "Don Doyon" signature and a serial number for further identification. "Don Doyon" under a clear acrylic window in the butt was also done. All work was done by hand in Don´s one-man shop. Although basic cues came with only one shaft, cues with inlay work came with two.
Don Doyon cues may be personalized with the owners name engraved on the butt cap, or under a clear acrylic ring in the butt sleeve or above the wrap. If you have a Don Doyon cue that needs further identification or repair, contact Don Doyon Custom Cues, listed in the Trademark Index.
