Maker of pool cues from 1995 to present in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
As a young boy, Cory Barnhart worked for his father at their family´s excavating business. At the age of 15, he got a job working for a custom cabinet buildier. At 16 he began working for a custom home builder. By the time Cory graduated from high school, he had already built a custom home on his own for a local buyer.
Cory began doing simple cue repairs in 1994, and in 1995 he built his first cue. He learned a lot through trial and error, but was helped along the way by a number of cuemakers, including Chester Krick, Dennis Deickman, Dan Dishaw and Jim Buss. Mike Webb and Chris Hightower were also influential in Cory´s learning of the trade. Cory´s work is inspired by Szamboti, Kersenbrock, and Richard Black.
Cory experimented with several different designs until he was satisfied that he had built a durable cue that played well. In 2003, he was inducted into the American Cuemaker´s Association. Cory Barnhart hosts pool tournaments for various charities and is also in the process of planning for other tournaments on the East coast of the United States.
Barnhart Cues are usually signed under the wrap, but Cory will sign or engrave what the customer wants. His cues are guaranteed for life against construction defects that are not the result of warpage or abuse.
